REAL ESTATE AGENTS & TOILET PAPER

REAL ESTATE AGENTS & TOILET PAPER

Toilet Paper

Real Estate agents and toilet paper?  Yes, hang with me and hopefully I can help you understand this strange analogy!  Bear with me as  while I explain.  (Forgive the puns but couldn't resist!)

As I was contemplating life while "in dispose" so speak, I couldn't help but giggled as I stared over at the toilet paper and had these thoughts:  (I seem to do a lot of thinking in this room!)

    • Toilet paper is such a wonderful thing that I am sure we all take for granted.  A lot like real estate agents right?  We perform a much needed service and if we were all to suddenly disappear, I do believe that we would be missed.  Have you ever run out of toilet paper?  Nothing else quite compares right?

    • Toilet paper does the job not many of us like to think about.  Keeping things clean and tidy!  As a real estate agent, don't we do just that?  We are the ones who clean up the little messes that crop up keeping things clean and tidy.

    • Toilet paper comes in pretty, wrapped packages yet it is a product that deals with some messy stuff.  As an agent we get all dressed up and present ourselves in pretty packages yet for me, I know that I deal with some pretty messy stuff in real estate.

  • Finally, toilet paper can either be super efficient and get the job done or it can be cheap and flimsy.  A good real estate agent is a great commodity that can be super resilient and gets the job done efficiently!

So yes, real estate agents and toilet paper have a lot in common!  We deal with all sorts of interesting situations yet we can wipe up almost any situation!   Just had to get that one in!  Thanks for having a little fun with me today!

Paula - lol - I just had to find out how we compare to toilet paper!  Now, that took some deep thinking:)

well, she did say that she came up with the idea while in the bathroom... ;)

You guys are "cracking" me up!  Oh don't get me started.  I must have had way too much coffee this morning!  Random thoughts for sure!  Thanks for stopping by to read this goofy post!  Sometimes we just have to amuse ourselves right?  Have a great day all!

Haha...great post, Paula!  I guess we really are like toilet paper.  :)

Posted by Kimm Cloutier, Realtor® Agawam, MA 413.642.1655 (Century 21 A-1 Nolan Realty) about 1 year ago

Yes Kimm, I prefer to think that I am much more like a two-ply!  Strong while getting even the yuckiest jobs done right?

Posted by Paula McDonald, RE/MAX The Woodlands, TX 936-203-0279 (Chevaux Group, PLLC) about 1 year ago

Might I suggest a different room for your deep thinking.  I prefer to think of myself as a knife, slicing through the morass of details and complications, or a sifter, seperating the wheat from the chaff, or even an easy chair, able to make everyone comfortable.  Toilet paper just reminds me how often we get **** upon.  Seriously, time for a change of venue.

Hey Leslie, yes I agree but unfortunately just a part of life.  Sometimes I do come up with the strangest musings.

Paula, an agent with a strong work ethic is often a pooped agent!   Brian

Please don't squeeze the agent!!  A very funny analogy Paula and most agent do get the job done in the end!!

I just remembered I need to stock up on TP for my vacant rental properties....I try to put them in units just before residents move in....

Wallace - what a thoughtful thing for you to do for the tenants.  Wow!

The real question I think we all need to look at is, are you a wad-der or a fold-er.  Then you can analyze that:)

Way too funny but I enjoyed it. I got the point too! I recently wwatched CNBC about Costco. Apparently, their single most sold product is their toilet rolls. Funny how much science goes into something as simple as this.

Could it be said that some agents and some TP is a "lil rough around the edges" sorry couldn't resist

Posted by Patrick Binning (RE/MAX All Pro) about 1 year ago

I'd like to think we deal with a much better "product" but I get your analogy.

Posted by John Muscarella, Broker/Owner Plymouth County/Cape Cod, MA (RIVER FARM PROPERTIES, LLC) about 1 year ago

Love the analogy!  My clients are always impressed when I pull the toilet paper out of my purse when I'm out showing so many vacant homes in AZ and the need arises.  Aren't we always there in a messy situation?

Posted by Barb Merrill GRI, Associate Broker (Cactus Mountain Properties, LLC) about 1 year ago

We sure do have to clean up behind others and we are almost like toilet paper. Congrats on the feature.

Posted by Mike Frazier, Dyersburg Tn Real Estate (Carousel Realty of Dyer County) about 1 year ago

Paula - a catchy title and love it! I noticed how Barb takes toilet paper with her on appointments... That is definitely a necessity too!

Posted by Gay Rosen (Houlihan Lawrence) about 1 year ago

Paula,

I love the title caught in on the featured page. Congratualtions on the feature and oh so true! Love your humor!

I am laughing out loud at Charita. It must have been the same thing that came to my mind. Congratulations on the feature!!

Oh this one made me laugh...I had to read it just to see how you equated agents with a product that we don't usually discuss in polite company.

Paula, that was priceless! You had me hooked with the title and drew me in with your analogies. Good job!

Paula:

The comparison is a stretch, but very funny.  I try not to think about toilet paper and me when I contemplate my job.

Posted by Evelyn Kennedy, Alameda Real Estate, Alameda, CA (Gallagher & Lindsey, Alameda, California) about 1 year ago

Paula, it was hard to imagine how you were going to make an analogy out of toilet paper, but you did an awesome job.  There just too many quips I could add to this, but suffice to say, "Good job!"

Paula, thanks for the chuckle! Your anal-ogy was brilliant and I would not poo-poo any of your thoughts on this rather dark matter.

Oh my # 31 has me laughing.  As far as I am concerned... Only double ply can will work.

Posted by Joan Whitebook (BHG The Masiello Group) about 1 year ago

Paula - we get compared to many different types of people but I have to say this is a first for me ..... two ply with baby powder works for me strong yet soft and tender

Posted by Kathy Clulow ASP® SRES® Uxbridge Ontario Real Estate (RE/MAX All-Stars Realty Inc. Brokerage) about 1 year ago

Paula, hmm not sure how I feel about being compared to toilet paper but you are right. We do deal with some messy situations sometimes.
