KODAK MOMENT: GAZING UPON A MIRACLE
"Mom, I am in labor a week early!", I heard my daughter tell me! My flight was scheduled for the following week and it coincided with Spring Break. After calling every airline around, no flights were available for me to get from Houston to Florida!
So, what does every mother do? Of course, I threw a bag into the car and headed out to drive the 1200+ miles to get to that new grand baby! Somewhere outside of Lake Charles, LA I received the SMS with the picture of my new, precious granddaughter Azilinn! I burst into tears, stepped on the gas a little heavier and for what seemed an eternity of trying to make it to the eastern coast of Florida!
Two days later exhausted but elated, I had arrived at the hospital. I literally sprinted from the parking lot to the correct floor and burst in! I scooped up that sweet little bundle and therefore creating this very special KODAK MOMENT!
Life as we each know it is so special and so fleeting. A few months after this KODAK MOMENT was taken, I would learn that I had a large tumor in my lung. The doctors gave me little hope. Yet here I am today with my life intact (minus half a lung) and I am here to enjoy this precious child.
I will be forever grateful for this picture being taken as I FELL IN LOVE! Life is sweet! Life is wonderful! Drink it in and never, ever give up on your dreams.

Great picture and you don't look tired at all. I know first hand how long that drive is having gone back and forth from Boston to Dallas a couple of times this year. Thanks for sharing your Kodak moment.

Paula, when I first started reading and then saw the pic I thought it was YOUR little one NOT your grandBABY!!! You certainly don't look anywhere old enough to be a Grandma!!!
But seriously - you just brought tears to my eyes! What a tender story, may you enjoy a long and healthy life watching that beautiful child grow up...
