SHE LOST A CLIENT DUE TO HER CLEAVAGE!
I received an interesting call the other day. A long-time client had a friend who was looking for an agent in The Woodlands. My sweet friend of course referred them to me. Upon meeting the new client, we had a very interesting dialogue.
They went on to explain that they had met another agent here and were so shocked to see her literally "busting" out of her clothing. They said that it was truly in your face and obnoxious. They agreed to meet with her one other time and once again, there they were, the twins up on a platter!
They just agreed that the agent did not appear professional and that this bothered them too much to continue working with her. How unfortunate that this young lady lost out on some business because she is presenting herself in a less than professional light. Well, at least the profession of real estate!
Major lesson for all of us...we are not only judged by the way we perform but also how we look on the job. A professional image is important. It may be trendy to wear low-cut blouses yet I would agree that this is not the professional image we want to see when choosing a professional.
Perhaps it is time to assess how we look before we walk out of the door? Is that skirt too short, blouse too low cut, outfit too tight? Image is important and yes, people are looking at you!
