THE NEW YEAR CAME IN WITH A BIT OF DRAMA ALONG WITH A GREAT ENDING!

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! I sincerely hope that you all have had a wonderful holiday season. I am looking forward to getting the new year off to a great start. Earlier this morning it appeared that the new year was about to begin in a very sad way.

My sweet little dachshund Jack somehow got lost last night. We had been moving furniture in and we think we must have gotten out during the chaos. Sadly he had a small seizure earlier in the day and was a bit disoriented.

Anyway, we hurriedly left the house last night for our New Year's Eve celebration with our neighbors. When we arrived home later, the usual greeting from Jack was not happening. We began calling for him and looked through every nook and cranny of the house. He is only 8 pounds so he can burrow easily into blankets, etc.

After exhausting our efforts to find him, we realized that he was gone. After many tears I finally fell asleep dreaming of hearing my little Jack. I kept waking up thinking I was hearing him.

This morning we posted signs all over the neighborhood and this afternoon got a call from the sweetest woman who said that she had Jack. He ended up under her car walking distance from our house. He was scared from the fireworks and she had to coax him out.

He spent the night with them and even slept curled up like he does with me to this woman! I will be eternally grateful that she took the time to help him and provided him with a safe place to stay. When we went to get him, he went nuts and so did we! Lots of hugs and kisses and many, many thanks for finding him.

So what started out to be a rough beginning to 2012 became a thankful event! I am so thankful for the kindness of a stranger! She was our angel!
